Years with the Project:Since 1996
Education: Bachelor of Science, Southern Illinois University
Ph.D., Michigan State University
General Research Interest Statement:
Stable isotope studies, soil organic matter dynamics, soil
fertility, sustainable agriculture, water quality, plant-microbe
interactions, soil microbial biomass, denitrification, residue
decomposition, root turnover.
Research Interest Pertaining to
SAFS Project :
I am interested in how cropping system practices affect soil
organic matter maintenance and carbon sequestration. In particular,
I plan to examine the influence of conventional and organic
management practices on the structure and function of soil
organic matter and how this relates to the concept of sustainable
nutrient cycling.
